OBSCURA NOCTEM is an independent digital archive devoted to the darker corners of history, folklore and culture.

Each volume is designed like a small museum publication: illustrated plates, maps, timelines and editorial layouts, made to be read slowly and returned to.

Volume I

The Gothic World opens the archive — a visual journey through vampire folklore, the Gothic novel, Victorian mourning culture and the origins of modern Goth.
